    About Our Founders

    Founder and CEO Paul Schreiber started Latico Leathers fresh out of college in 1984. He began selling leather goods out of his trunk in NYC, and soon enough, specialty boutiques in Greenwich Village couldn't keep his merchandise in stock. Bands like the Grateful Dead eventually became fans of his genuine leather bags, and Latico grew into its identity as a leather goods company with a rock and roll twist.

    Paul met his wife Lainie — an uptown girl with a New York fashion background — and the two launched a celebrated women’s line. The unique artisan linings, unexpected leather treatments, and extensive interior organization created during that time would come to define Latico’s signature style.

    Today, our customers refer to us as their “one-stop shop” for quality leather goods. In fact, over 80% of our business comes from repeat customers. We can’t thank you enough for your ongoing support!

      Best Bag Ever!!

      I got this bag in the color honey and I absolutely love it!! It’s the perfect size for everyday use and the neutral color goes with everything! I also love the thin shoulder straps, simple cross stitch detail, and the convenient yet hidden cell phone pocket. On the inside there are two pouches and a zippered pouch so you can easily organize all your things. Can’t say enough good things about this bag! Will be getting it in black next.

      Super cuddly soft Mar bag

      This is my third Mar purchase in 12 years!!!! I simply adore this style. I have a purse organizer inside and keep the bag highly organized. I dislike hard type purses. Due to the quality craftsmanship of this company, my old purse is still going strong. Can’t wait for Spring to use my new Mar bag.

      Love but…

      I love the style and weight of this bag. I have a few and will be buying more. However the color I bought is the light blue and I don’t notice until I threw away the packaging that the zipper metal had stained the leather. So a little sad because of that. I will still buy more.

      Light and classic

      Mar does not have any hardware (except zips), and only slip pockets inside. The simplicity of the bag keeps it light weight and classic. The 12” narrow straps allow it to sit on my shoulder nicely, but some may feel it cuts if the load is heavy. Honey is a lovely tan-leaning yellow color…almost like butter. Which ironically is what Latico leather feels like! So super soft! It is rather floppy without something inside to offer structure. I use leather littles (glasses case, pencil case, wallet) inside for organizing and structure.
