    About Our Founders

    Founder and CEO Paul Schreiber started Latico Leathers fresh out of college in 1984. He began selling leather goods out of his trunk in NYC, and soon enough, specialty boutiques in Greenwich Village couldn't keep his merchandise in stock. Bands like the Grateful Dead eventually became fans of his genuine leather bags, and Latico grew into its identity as a leather goods company with a rock and roll twist.

    Paul met his wife Lainie — an uptown girl with a New York fashion background — and the two launched a celebrated women’s line. The unique artisan linings, unexpected leather treatments, and extensive interior organization created during that time would come to define Latico’s signature style.

    Today, our customers refer to us as their “one-stop shop” for quality leather goods. In fact, over 80% of our business comes from repeat customers. We can’t thank you enough for your ongoing support!

      Road Tripping

      Just returned from a road trip from NE Texas to southern Missouri. This Theo Tote/ crossbody in black was so convenient to carry. The built in grab handles make it so easy to grab and go. Yes, it also has the crossbody included. Of course, Latico leather is awesome, so buttery soft. The interior organizer is great and a time saver for me. Most bags everything goes to the bottom. The outside hidden slip pocket is great for my iPhone 14 Pro and easy to access. This is my first Latico purchase. I have ordered several since this one.

      The PERFECT bag!

      This bag is the perfect size; it comfortably holds my full-size wallet, hardside sunglasses case, reading glasses, a couple of grocery bags, and a small cosmetic bag with breathing room.

      The leather is great quality — soft but sturdy — and all the zippers are substantial and move smoothly.

      I love the woven detail on the ends, but my favorite thing is the handle! Crossbodies are my thing, but I also like to have a handle for easy grab-n-go, and this one is *perfect*. So often they stick up stiffly or flop around, and the way these are sleekly incorporated is just *chef's kiss*.

      The icing on the cake is the clever phone pocket. It easily fits my iPhone 15 Pro. It's convenient to grab my phone when I need it, but the magnetic closure keeps it from sliding out.

      Really, if I set out to design the perfect bag for me, I don't know that I could have done any better (except maybe adding a key leash or a ring inside that I could clip my keys to).

      Beautiful bag

      This is the perfect every day bag for me as it is not overly large or too small — it’s generous without being bulk or heavy. As usual with Latico bags, the quality is excellent and the leather is soft and gorgeous. A warning to those getting the brown — the color I received is more so a burgundy. I know color varies and it’s still beautiful (hence 4 stars) just not what I was expecting. I have a tote in a similar color but decided to keep this one anyhow as it’s so functional, it will surely still get use.
