About Our Founders

Founder and CEO Paul Schreiber started Latico Leathers fresh out of college in 1984. He began selling leather goods out of his trunk in NYC, and soon enough, specialty boutiques in Greenwich Village couldn't keep his merchandise in stock. Bands like the Grateful Dead eventually became fans of his genuine leather bags, and Latico grew into its identity as a leather goods company with a rock and roll twist.

Paul met his wife Lainie — an uptown girl with a New York fashion background — and the two launched a celebrated women’s line. The unique artisan linings, unexpected leather treatments, and extensive interior organization created during that time would come to define Latico’s signature style.

Today, our customers refer to us as their “one-stop shop” for quality leather goods. In fact, over 80% of our business comes from repeat customers. We can’t thank you enough for your ongoing support!

    Everything I’ve wanted in a bag!

    VAL is such a perfect and classy bag. Buttery soft, very organizational with many pockets and different compartments. Super stylish and comfortable to carry. I got the cognac color, but now I’m thinking I need every color! 🥰 Obsessed with this beautiful and thoughtfully made bag by Latico Leathers.

    Self Proclaimed Bag Snob

    As someone who typically only buys designer bags with a 4 figure price tag (Don’t judge me), I was recently on vacation in Point Pleasant, NJ and came across the most amazing Boutique (Lola’s) that had the most beautiful selection of buttery soft leather bags, one of which stood out from all the rest. It was the Val in black. The moment I saw it, I immediately grabbed it and headed to the register before my husband came in and talked me out of it. When I tell you this bag is incredible, you need to listen! The leather is unbelievable and I can tell will only get better the more you use it. I have never heard of this brand before, but immediately looked it up the moment I got home to order another one in another color. If you are thinking about buying this bag, DO IT. You will not regret it… You can thank me later ;)

    Not big enough for 12in. wide laptop

    Very soft leather, size not overwhelmingly big for someone who’s petite. Love the dual zippers dual compartment organization. If it were just 2 inches wider I would’ve kept it. I can’t fit my 12-in wide laptop, even though the tote spec says it is 12.5 in. Length, because the zippers don’t open all the way to the edge, they’re blocked by the tote handles looping through the bag. So returning this, and ordering Mar Tote to try, even though I like this design better.

    It is what I need

    I am a lover of small crossbody bags but I wanted to have something bigger than the usual bag I normally have and this one meet what I was looking for. It is not too big and not too small, just the right size that I need.
