About Our Founders

Founder and CEO Paul Schreiber started Latico Leathers fresh out of college in 1984. He began selling leather goods out of his trunk in NYC, and soon enough, specialty boutiques in Greenwich Village couldn't keep his merchandise in stock. Bands like the Grateful Dead eventually became fans of his genuine leather bags, and Latico grew into its identity as a leather goods company with a rock and roll twist.

Paul met his wife Lainie — an uptown girl with a New York fashion background — and the two launched a celebrated women’s line. The unique artisan linings, unexpected leather treatments, and extensive interior organization created during that time would come to define Latico’s signature style.

Today, our customers refer to us as their “one-stop shop” for quality leather goods. In fact, over 80% of our business comes from repeat customers. We can’t thank you enough for your ongoing support!

    Almost perfect

    I’m just in love with the pattern! The outside pocket inside zipper pocket are great; however, I’m unsure if I can live with the flaws. If the base was a little bit wider, it might have stayed upright. But as it is, it tips over unless stuffed. The leather by the handle looks already loved. It’s just a bit much for my taste. The flat, unsupported, handles are what I don’t think I can live with. They just don’t lay right and feel a bit awkward, and the opening is too small (my hand won’t fit through comfortably and it won’t slide down toward my elbow) It needs a larger opening and handle support. I think a ring would have been perfect. Darn :( I really wanted to love this purse!

    Bohemian beauty

    This handbag is absolutely beautiful. I went back-and-forth between this size and the next size up. This bag runs a little smaller than what I normally like but because it’s so pretty I decided to keep it and will eventually order the next size up in the black. I also have a matching wallet to this bag which it fits perfectly inside. I do not over fill my purses. This is truly a beautiful bohemian style purse but if you like your bag a little larger order the next size.

    This purse is so soft, has the genuine leather scent. Not too big or small, can fit all the necessities. The leather tooling is very unique. Have been looking for new black purse for a few months, it's a keeper.
