About Our Founders
Founder and CEO Paul Schreiber started Latico Leathers fresh out of college in 1984. He began selling leather goods out of his trunk in NYC, and soon enough, specialty boutiques in Greenwich Village couldn't keep his merchandise in stock. Bands like the Grateful Dead eventually became fans of his genuine leather bags, and Latico grew into its identity as a leather goods company with a rock and roll twist.
Paul met his wife Lainie — an uptown girl with a New York fashion background — and the two launched a celebrated women’s line. The unique artisan linings, unexpected leather treatments, and extensive interior organization created during that time would come to define Latico’s signature style.
Today, our customers refer to us as their “one-stop shop” for quality leather goods. In fact, over 80% of our business comes from repeat customers. We can’t thank you enough for your ongoing support!

I love this bag - it’s the bag I’ve been searching for for years and finally found! Found my way to Latico through an ad on Instagram. I like to research and read reviews, and I spent hours trying to decide which style Latico and what color I wanted - read every review, watched every video. What frustrated me a little was that people would leave great reviews and post good photos, but they didn’t always mention what color the bag was. I knew I wanted the Bianca bag - I like the clean lines, design and minimal hardware look. I was leaning towards cognac, but in a lot of the photos the color seemed to be more orangey than I wanted so I settled on Hazel and placed my order. The bag arrived in a couple days, and I really liked it, but it wasn’t the look I read about that people raved about in their reviews. So I called customer service, and decided to order a cognac bag to compare. Here are the photos of the cognac bag and one with the hazel bag next to the cognac bag. In the photos with two bags, the left is cognac, the right is hazel.
I fell absolutely in love with the cognac bag the moment I opened the package and that’s the one I’m keeping. The cognac is that perfect vintagey worn in gorgeous leather. Bianca is a beautiful bag. The leather is soft and the grass color charming. It is roomy without being too big. But, for me, there is an issue with the handle and the strap. The handle is too short, which makes it unconfortable to carry the bag around my wrist. And the strap is too long, including when I shorten it as much as possible. By comparison, both the handle and the strap are perfect with Nash bag, which I also have.
