About Our Founders

Founder and CEO Paul Schreiber started Latico Leathers fresh out of college in 1984. He began selling leather goods out of his trunk in NYC, and soon enough, specialty boutiques in Greenwich Village couldn't keep his merchandise in stock. Bands like the Grateful Dead eventually became fans of his genuine leather bags, and Latico grew into its identity as a leather goods company with a rock and roll twist.

Paul met his wife Lainie — an uptown girl with a New York fashion background — and the two launched a celebrated women’s line. The unique artisan linings, unexpected leather treatments, and extensive interior organization created during that time would come to define Latico’s signature style.

Today, our customers refer to us as their “one-stop shop” for quality leather goods. In fact, over 80% of our business comes from repeat customers. We can’t thank you enough for your ongoing support!

Beautifully crafted crossbody bag!

I had been eyeing the Fabian bag for awhile and finally decided to purchase it. It is better than I could have ever expected! It’s the most gorgeous shade of hunter green and the leather is very soft and top quality. I love how roomy the inside is, yet compact. Adjustable straps are a must for me (I’m 5’1), and this one fits the bill. What really caught my eye with this bag is the shape of it and how retro it looks. I love everything about it and will be purchasing from Latico again!

Perfect Little Bag!

This has become one of my new favorite bags! It's so different than any other clutch or crossbody I own. I love that I can throw it over my shoulder or take the straps off for a more chic look. I get so many compliments on it too. Highly recommend for anyone who loves the versatility of a bag! It's a beautiful and timeless piece.

Such a roomy bag! This bag definitely fits a lot more than it looks like it can. I have a variety of hand sanitizers, hand wipes, small make up case, sunglasses and a variety of other small items. Magnetic closure seems very strong. The crossbody strap is generous length, as I’ve noticed with the other Latico bags I own! This bag is so cute and has a vintage vibe about it. I am not a huge fan of the cross stitches on the front and would definitely buy another color if it were a plain front. But still a great bag nonetheless. Looks great packed full or light. Awesome purchase!

I LOVE IT!

A million years ago I had a Latico messenger bag that I used as a [very] large purse. The leather aged beautifully and I'm not sure what finally happened to it. I came across the Latico tag in a box of old letters so I went to their website...found the Fabian crossbody and had to wait and wait until the black color came back in stock. I absolutely love it! I'm also from NJ and love that I'm giving back to a local [even though I now live in Maryland! Thank you!

Much better than I expected!

I am so tickled with this bag! I love the design and the leather and the roomy interior! I ordered another one in the new green color. I have two other latico bags but they are larger and I love the too but this size is perfect for travel, evening, and when you want a lighter load.
